Quick Overview

Emma is just a young girl, no older than 10. But she promised me that someday when she’s all grown up she would buy this outfit and stroll down Lake Washington Boulevard on the East side of the lake. Her folks’ home in Lakeview is a lovely royal blue house with a red door just a few blocks from the shoreline.

When I brought the painting to the house both she and her little brother reached out to touch the thickly oil painted texture, their mom, quite naturally warned them “no, don’t touch.” I interjected, assuring them that normally they shouldn’t touch artworks, however in this case it was okay, they had full permission. I laid my hand upon the surface of the bumpy painting, “it’s mostly dry, although I think the Luminous Orange is still a bit wet, see?” I raised my hand up to show that my thumb had a dot of bright orange from the semi-dry oil.
