In this painting rain pelts a city square, it could be Seattle, it could even be France. Blurred cars rush around the perimeter. Umbrellas and hats trot by quickly as the man in the cowboy hat turns toward us. Who is he? I wish I could say, but he just appeared and I have yet to decide his background. The yellow gold lights heat up the painting with a warm glow but it’s quite cold and windy I believe.
Imidazalone refers to the transparent oil color I predominantly used in the making of the painting. Before this particular Imidazalone touches another color it appears almost black, but it is actually a deeply rich burnt sienna hue. When mixed with yellow it turns a lovely orange, mixed with blue is makes an earthy violet.
